Today officially marks 1 year since I left the UK

Today officially marks 1 year since I left the UK for Australia 🇦🇺

I can’t believe it’s been a year already- I feel like I’ve barely explored this country at all!

It’s so strange thinking back to first arriving in Sydney this time last year, I feel like I was a completely different person then, full of excitement and apprehension but also so determined to make it work here - and I did 🥰

For anyone who is thinking about moving abroad, doing a working holiday (anywhere, not just Australia), it IS scary, times will be lonely, you WILL get homesick, and you will have so many “what if” thoughts but I promise you it’s SO worth it, and everything will work out.

And even if you come for a while and figure it’s not for you, at least you tried, rather than always wondering 💭

Here’s to my second year 🥂✈️

If you are wanting to visit somewhere in Europe and you’re stuck on where to go, Slovenia is such an amazing destination! If you choose to stay in Ljubljana or Lake Bled, then Vintgar Gorge (shown in the reel) is a must visit !!! 🫶🏼

Stunning scenery, shaded on hot days, an easy flat boardwalk the entire way, plus nature swimming and a cafe at the end?? Sounds like the perfect day out to me 🥰

I’ve had a fair few people follow me on here recently so I thought I’d re introduce myself 🫶🏼

My name is Laura (friends call me Laur/Loz) - I’m originally from the UK but currently living in Australia 🇬🇧🇦🇺

I’m a sun chasing, travel obsessed digital nomad who quite frankly, can’t keep still for longer than a few months at a time. I left the UK in April 2022 and lived out of a suitcase between Asia and Europe until September 2023 when I came to Australia! I spent 9 months living in Sydney and have recently moved to Queensland for more exploring and better weather!

So far, I’ve been to 41 countries, top three being Vietnam, New Zealand and Iceland ❤️ My goal is to visit every country in the world, so I’ve still got a fair way to go, including actually going to Central and South America as I haven’t even been to either yet!! Top bucket list destinations I want to visit next are Japan, South Africa and Cuba 💭✨

I enjoy a mix of hostel life and hotels, budget friendly but comfortable travel. I loveeee exploring new cities, eating local food and hiking in national parks. I often write about and vlog my travels - links in bio if you’re interested! I used to be so scared to share my content but now I’m in my 30s I actually don’t care what people think anymore - and it allows me to travel the world so duh why would I keep that to myself 🤯

Although we were in a dorm, it felt more like we were staying in a hotel because of the cleanliness, the decor, the amenities.
